Three-Car Accident in Henrico Ends With Man Being Arrested

Saturday night around 11:00 p.m. Henrico Police Officers were taken on a chase that ended in a crash involved three vehicles. The ordeal all started when Henrico Police spotted a vehicle with it’s headlights off and no plates near Broad Street and Libbie Avenue. Police tried to stop the car, but the driver proceed to speed away at high speeds. Officers decided not to continue to pursue the driver because of the high rate of speed and instead contacted the situation to dispatch for help from additional units.

Other officers on patrol spotted the vehicle traveling at high speeds on Broad Street near Target and Willow Lawn. The driver then attempted to pass through the intersection of Broad and Staples Mill Street, but the signal light had changed to red, and he had crashed into two other vehicles. The driver then attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended by Henrico Police.

The driver was charged with felony hit & run, reckless driving and other charges as a result of the accident, Henrico Police Officers were able to identify the driver as Markus L. A. Ronnie.
